Actually, this is something the stock-evalulators do on a pretty regular basis these days, isn't it? Maybe in 1980 it was not so common.


Now that they have things like morningstar's ratings of stocks from 1 to 5 stars and the like, is this an example of a cartoon that would no longer be funny because she's actually asking what could be considered a reasonable question? Or is it still funny today?

I guess you're right, Gary. This isn't a gag that I would consider drawing today -- not funny enough, for exactly the reason you cite.
