Winner of Eli's Cartoon Caption Contest No. 22

"This is going to look great hanging up in my old room!" (by Melissa)

My original caption: "And look, it's 'Magna Cum Laude', whatever that means!"

Congratulations, Melissa -- you have joined the ranks of one of the funniest people around.

Other captions I was considering for top honors:

"It says: Thank you for your participation in the Psychology Department's research study on mock diplomas given to students who didn't actually graduate. You and your parents will be monitored for the next few moments for any reaction. We look forward to seeing you in Psychology 101 again next year." (by Sharon)

"Remind me again . . . what did I major in?" (by Cary Antebi)

"This came out great. It looks like a real diploma." (by Kittyasher)

Thanks, everybody, for participating -- there'll be a new contest in a couple of weeks.

Eli's Cartoon Caption Contest No. 22

(I'll be preoccupied for the next three weeks and won't have easy access to a computer. What I plan to do is start Contest No. 22 today and hold it open for entries until Tuesday, May 24th. My hope is that you will send in your captions as usual and that I will be able to post them whenever I can grab some computer time).

Cartoon Caption Contest No. 22 starts right now.

Briefly, here are the details: I'll supply a drawing of one of my old cartoons that has never been published, leaving off my caption. You are invited to supply your funniest captions. Simply (1) click on 'COMMENTS' underneath the current drawing. Then (2) scroll down past all the other comments and type in your name and your caption in the spaces provided. Then (3) enter the anti-spam security word that assures me that you're a human being and not a machine, and (4) click 'Submit'. There is no limit on the number of captions you can submit for each drawing.

Entries will be accepted and posted for three weeks (for this contest only), after which a winner will be announced and the winning caption will be printed. Below that I will also print my original caption. The cut-off time and date for you to submit your captions for this contest is midnight, Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

I will be the sole judge. The winning caption will be the one I judge to be the funniest one submitted (not necessarily the one that matches or comes closest to my original caption).

Additional rules and regulations, for those of you who need such things, can be found here.

Here's the drawing for this contest -- it's graduation time, folks!
